Do you take insurance?

Revital Chiropractic & Wellness is contracted with all BCBS PPO healthcare plans. If we do not take your insurance, we offer competitive cash rates. Before your initial visit, your insurance benefits will be verified so you know exactly what you owe beforehand.

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic services are used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Chiropractors assess patients through clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine when chiropractic treatment is appropriate or when it is not appropriate. Chiropractors will readily refer patients to the appropriate health care provider when chiropractic care is not suitable for the patient’s condition, or the condition warrants co-management in conjunction with other health care providers.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Before your visit, a welcome email will be sent that includes all new patient paperwork. Please have all paperwork filled out digitally before your visit. This will allow more time for consultation and treatment if clinically indicated. Insurance card and ID will be requested on your intake forms to allow your benefits to be verified before your visit.

A consultation is completed before anything to allow Dr. Adams to better understand your complaint, healthcare concerns and gather all information to determine if you are good candidate for chiropractic care or to make the proper referral to someone to manage/comanage your care.

A complete assessment including a full neurological exam, orthopedic testing and biomechanical assessment is performed in order to further understand your case. Dr. Adams will then talk about your case and her findings as well as give informed consent before performing anything. If clinically necessary and it is determined that you are a good candidate for care, a relief treatment will be performed on the first day of care.

Dr. Adams then sends an email including your full diagnosis, plan of care, homecare recommendations and therapeutic exercise to give a snapshot of her plan to get you feeling better and back to what you love doing.

Are x-rays required to recieve chiropractic care?

In most cases the potential benefits from routine imaging, including spinal X-rays, do not outweigh the potential harms. The use of spinal X-rays should not be routinely performed in chiropractic practice, and should be guided by clinical guidelines and clinical judgement. X-rays and further diagnostic imaging have a time and a place which is why Dr. Adams spends more time with her patients in order to take a thorough case history to make proper recommendations before treatment.
